Tactical Summary
Red Desert consists almost entirely of low sand dunes with very little effective cover, resulting in exceptionally long engagement distances. It also offers few viable flanking routes or breakthrough corridors, leaving players with little room for tactical maneuver.
Combat is therefore largely confined to prolonged standoffs across the hills surrounding points A, B, and C. Although the spawn areas are reasonably well protected, once a team loses the key high ground, retaking it is extremely difficult and the remainder of the match often becomes a foregone conclusion.
With so few tactical options and so little opportunity to reverse the course of a battle, Red Desert is arguably the worst map in War Thunder.
